Johnny Homer is a journalist, broadcaster, author and tour guide. He is based in Whitstable but was born and bred in London. The Great Wen remains one of the loves of his life and he is well-known to Londoners as a regular and long-serving contributor to the Robert Elms Show on BBC Radio London. He can be hired to host private, bespoke London walking tours. His written work has appeared in national newspapers, a variety of magazines and on several websites, among them The Guardian, The Face, NME, Melody Maker, Sounds, The Buzz, The Weekender, Focus, Vox, What’s On In London and View London. Until the end of 2012, after almost seven years on the job, he was sports editor of four weekly Kent newspapers, Canterbury Times, Faversham Times, Herne Bay Times and Whitstable Times (all, sadly, no longer with us). He has also been a member of staff at both the Press Association and Oracle Teletext. He loves to walk and is also the author of Canterbury Pubs, published September 2015, City of London Pubs, (April 2016), Whitstable and Herne Bay Pubs (Aug, 2016), Brewing in Kent (Sep, 2016), Clerkenwell and Islington Pubs (May, 2017) and Southwark Pubs (Sep, 2017). His forthcoming book,  Brewing in London, will be in bookshops from July this year. All are published by Amberley. He is a member of The Guild of British Beer Writers and can be contacted at
